Who We Are

The Auxiliary

The Princeton Hospital Auxiliary has been serving the community for over 100 years and has been a registered Society since 1978. Our Volunteers are the backbone of our Society – no member, including the Executive, receives a salary. We are members of the British Columbia Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries (BCAHA) which offers governance, education, and a platform for exchange of information among all 87 member auxiliaries in the province. We are one of the 19 Auxiliaries in the Okanagan Mainline Area (OMA).

Our members, who are spread out over much of our donation area, take time from their busy lives to sort, organize, and often to repair and/or clean, the items that end up on the shelves and racks of the Thrift Store.

Our Executive body is made up of a President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Members are elected to these positions at our Annual General Meeting and members can either be nominated in advance of the AGM or may be nominated from the floor at the time of that meeting. Our meetings are held on the second Monday of every month with the exception of July and August.

Our 2017 Executive – from right to left: Laila Bird, President; Sandy Wilson, Treasurer; Diane Graham, 2nd Vice President, Patti Vinters, Secretary; Diane Wix, 1st Vice President.
